Founder of Rediscover Counseling, lover of life, and lives it to the full

I am glad you are here!  Seeking help and recognizing that there is a need for change can be a difficult place to be.

You are brave, you are seen, you are loved!

ABOUT ME

"I am not a therapist" is the phrase I used more than once after earning my Masters Degree in Social Work.

For nearly a decade, I have seen myself as a macro level social worker - managing programs/budgets/grants, supervising staff, and interacting with other community partners, city officials, and state officials.  My passion, however, has always come back to understanding one simple question - why are we the way we are?  Why do we react to situations the way we do?  Are our lives a series of events that take us in a particular direction?  Are we more than the sum of our worst mistakes?

PERSONAL LIFE

First and foremost, I am a child of God.  I am a husband, father, son, and brother - all four distinct principles of what makes me who I am.  I am a lover of coffee, have no self control around donuts, but strive for strength and agility in my daily workout routine.   I struggle with ADHD, though find rest and solitude in gardening, cooking, camping, and campfires.  Football isn't everything, but it is from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon when the Colts are playing!

What can I expect from you as a therapist?

Above all else, dignity and worth because that is what I believe you deserve!

The four walls of my office are a sacred space.  Judgment, shame, and imperfection can be left at the door.  My extensive training in Developmental and Relational Trauma, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Treatment will help me understand your goals.

We will explore core needs and the immature responses we have when these needs are not met.  I am a firm believer that the majority of concerns fall back on experiences that have happened to us before we turn 18.  I will guide you through exploration of why you react to situations and others the way you do.

Often we neglect one or more of the domains that make up our lives:  mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.  My hope for you is that you will live more fully into your purposes and passions, with relationships that flourish.
